happy birthday, kris! i threw kris a party last night to honour his turning the big 3-0 and to commemorate his champagne birthday, as he turns 30 years old on the 30th day of december.
we rented the condo's party room for the occasion. i tried to make an ice sculpture from a mold that one of my students gave me as a gift - it is a great idea in theory but ended up looking like the leaning tower of pisa because the water froze at an angle. i tried to fix it to no avail...the leaning tower of ice it was.
the party went into the wee hours of the morning and although we didn't have any complaints from neighbours, i'm sure they heard us. the night was a big success - thanks to everyone who came and to those who helped...
thanks to vanessa, who made an amazing cake! it was so delicious! she also made some mousse with raspberry and champagne in it, also yummy. vanessa, you are wonderful. chris and sebastian brought us snackies and most notably, a big toblerone bar...mmm, toblerone. thanks guys! thanks to albert h. for the 10 bags of potato chips - i definitely won't have to replenish our potato chip stock for a very long time! thanks to my brother who helped out a lot and brought us ice, orange juice and melissa. thanks to melissa for attempting to get to our house using the ttc which is virtually unpossible.
now today, which is kris' actual birthday day, is spent recuperating and cleaning. even the cat is too tired to create mischief. it's a good thing a champagne 30th birthday only happens once in a lifetime!
