trailer trash

i have issues with movie trailers. their original purpose is to lure you to go see the movie. i find that trailers these days contain WAY too many scenes from the movie it's advertising, thereby giving away most of the movie. trailer...or spoiler?

now that there is a tv program called "nothing but trailers". these trailers are even longer than the traditional trailers contained at the beginning of movies and reveal more information. but. these trailers are in high-definition. HIGH DEFINITION! which is how we ended up watching it, but i digress.

there is a new jennifer garner movie (i can't remember the title, but that's a minor detail). her fiance dies, his best friend is a jerk, she has to move out of her apartment because she can't afford it alone, moves in with two weirdo guys, she puts on her wedding dress because she never got to wear it, jerk best friend comes in and sees her, they fall in love and they live happily ever after. oh, and there's some freaky blonde girl who jennifer garner has issues with, i think she's the jerk best friend's son's mother and she is jealous of her.

i rest my case. it's like i got the cole's notes for this movie. this is silly because reading a book takes energy and some kind of intellect. watching a movie does not.

i hereby declare my boycott of trailers. if this means i have to bury my face and plug my ears randomly during commercials, so be it. if this means i have to purposely go to a movie 20 minutes later than the original showtime, so be it. trailer trash no more!
