frizzy miko

i bought "frizz-ease" shampoo by john frieda. it's supposed to reduce frizz which is what i look for in a shampoo (cue to miko pictures circa 1991-1998).

i had high expectations for this shampoo. this probably led to its demise, since i was terribly disappointed by it's performance. it made my hair frizzy! i would flat-iron my hair because it was so pouffy after blow-drying it, and it would be less pouffy, but still frizzy. and the colour of my hair was really flat, kind of a mouse-y dark brown. it's amazing how much shampoo can affect the look of your hair. so i've switched to bed head's "self-absorbed" shampoo. it's wonderful! it smells like orange sherbet...i have to restrain from eating it and best of all, it works great.

so...anyone want a "de-frizzing" shampoo?

i find the best de-poufing strategy is to wash my hair at night, let it air-dry, then flat-iron in the morning.

for me, it's the blow-drying that causes additional pouf.

i wish that would work for me. i've tried. when my hair air dries, it will be semi-wavy but frizzy...and i find that no matter how high i set my flat iron, it still doesn't get out all the kinks.

but i'm loving this new shampoo - 3 good hair days in a row! wheee!

what brand of flat iron do you employ?

i have the babyliss ceramic one (not just ceramic-coated)...but i also have some stubborn hair with stubborn kinks. i find that it never looks as good as when i wash-blowdry-flatiron compared to wash-airdry-sleep-flat iron...i guess i could wash-blowdry-sleep-flatiron...
