re: haunt you everyday

i was considering putting an end to my blogs about grey's since almost everyone i know has stopped watching it...but i will continue, all for my kindergarten buddy! the other three of you who read my blog will just have to ignore my thursday posts.

so onwards.

this episode was about ghosts and dealing with them...lots of loose ends were tied in this episode. meredith's mother is finally put to rest. now she can evolve so that she can marry derek and have kids with the white picket fence and grow old together (sigh).

callie is clearly moving on from george and the marriage that was. she was fantastic in this episode - she was the callie that we know and love, she was strong and independent and she didn't let anyone mess with her. we saw a glimpse of a friendship budding between her and cristina, which makes perfect sense to me now. especially since cristina never really liked izzie (lizzie?) to begin with.

we wondered what happened to ava/rebecca and, poof, she returns! looking great, might i add, considering people were referring to her as "crush" last season. when her face reminded me of blueberry yogurt. (i have to say, an episode of private practice also had a "jane doe" who was also named "rebecca"...couldn't they have at least picked a different name?? sorry, digressing...) and there they go, glorifying adultery again. tsk tsk.

dr. hahn returned and filled the important head of cardio-thoracic surgery, thus hammering the last nail in the coffin that is burke.

the chief's family saga appears to be wrapping up, with the announcement of his wife filing for divorce. i LOVE how cristina gave him her apartment and then took it back when he told her he hired dr. hahn as the new cardio-thoracic head. right after she yelled at hahn. classic!

the tension between lexie and meredith continues to dissipate (i was actually tempted to type "disapparate"? too much harry potter!), with her touching story about digging up her cat. maybe they will actually be friends, and derek won't start dating lexie and then i don't have to hate lexie. we shall see.

other thoughts:

the earless boy was adorable and touching. he was definitely a much more accomplished actor than the deer boy from the first episode.

it was interesting to see bailey in a moment of weakness. she is usually in complete control of her work life, and we see that her family life is suffering because of her job. this is so realistic and mirrors the chief's tumultuous family life...i wonder if this will come up in a later episode? and when did george admit to callie that he loves izzie and that it wasn't just a fling? did i miss this? it seems like she has moved on, and how could she have done that without him telling her? or did she just figure it out?

i loved sloan in this episode...he seemed less slimey (despite the nurse's club against him) and more like a person with a heart. he did the pro bono operation, him and derek had fun boy banter and he told meredith that the apple fell far from the tree, which is exactly what she needed to hear - that she is nothing like her mother. i think that is what helped her come to the moving and emotional scene at the end of the episode. and hopefully she will move on.

*edited to add: and as usual, i didn't read the writer's blog yet...but now that i'm done my blog, i tried to go to it, and it won't load! bah!!
