christmas 2007

we slept in on christmas day which is always a nice feeling. we had bacon and eggs for breakfast, and headed for my parent's house in the early afternoon. we forgot that outside of toronto, not every business is open, especially on christmas day, and ended up coming very close to running out of gas. luckily simone, our car's computer/gps, found us a gas station with about 5 kilometres left in the tank. christmas crisis averted. phew.

we were greeted with an excited nephew and niece who, as usual, entertained the family. they played "here i am!" and proved that their feet really are mini-heaters, since they were barefoot for most of the day while i was wishing for thicker socks! we feasted on turkey dinner, apple pie and christmas cookies. mmmm!

i received season 3 of grey's anatomy, yay! and the book, the kite runner, that i wanted to read before i see the movie. we just saw "charlie wilson's war," which is also about the russian invasion of afghanistan. it's neat to have two different perspectives about the same story. kris received a wonderful plethora of wine-related items, including wine (duh), a special honey wine and a fancy corkscrew set.

"welcome to the puppet show!"
