cabbage patch miko-chan

why do things like cabbage and lettuce come in such large portions? they should sell lettuce halves, like they sell watermelon wedges. you can buy lettuce-in-a-bag, but i would rather just have regular lettuce since lettuce-in-a-bag has a funny taste to it. or they could engineer mini-cabbages, like they have mini-watermelons. i guess that would be brussel sprouts. not the same, though. OOH, what about a square cabbage? that would be fun!

the reason why i went on this tangent...i had a craving and bought napa cabbage. it's huge. so i'm finding different ways of using it, which is like a fun game. i'm planning on making oknomiyaki, a japanese cabbage pancake thingie, but it takes a long time to slice the cabbage, so it will have to be a weekend activity. i also bought a huge bag of rice crackers. i'm feeling rather japanese these days...

oh, and to add to this very tangenty post, i taught my 10-year old student the meaning of the phrase, "i digress". i think that's funny.
