as i was driving out of the parking garage yesterday, i noticed that my car was making a jingling noise. because the payments on the car are finally finished, i thought this must be some kind of murphy's law; the car is paid off, and that's when the whole thing falls apart.
i'm driving gingerly listening for the sound...i'm no mechanic but these definitely were not normal car sounds. as i'm driving, i remember that i left my wallet at home. i turn around to go back home and this allows me to investigate the suspicious noise. then my car starts singing the alphabet song to me...again, not a mechanic, but then i was convinced that my car problems were infantile (tee hee). i try to remember if perhaps i left a present for my niece or nephew in the trunk, but i'm sure that i didn't.
i get back to my parking spot, open the trunk and voila...several baby toys, one of which sings the alphabet song - although it's so innocent, it's kind of scary when you have no idea it's there and it starts serenading you.
at least the car is okay. and at least i'm not hearing voices.
oh, the reason why the baby toys are in the trunk? noooo, i'm not pregnant! after a careful investigation (read: asking kris why there were baby toys in the trunk), i sleuthfully discovered that kris' co-worker was giving the toys to another co-worker who lives close to us and just had a baby.
mystery solved. just call me veronica mars!
