dear starbucks barista:
behold. a travel mug. the purpose of the travel mug is to eliminate unnecessary waste, such as paper coffee cups. i have decided to start using the travel mug that i received as a gift in order to stop sending millions of paper cups to the landfill. while i am doing my ecological part, it doesn't come without a bit of extra planning in my morning. i have to make sure the travel mug is clean and i have to remember to bring it with me. all a small price to pay to help the environment.
when i bring you a travel mug to fill, it defeats the purpose to fill up a PAPER cup, transfer the coffee into my travel mug, then promptly throw away the cup that acted as your measuring cup. i might as well (myswell?) have left my travel mug at home.
not only that, you give me a 10 cent discount for bringing my travel mug because it doesn't use up a cup, saving your company money. which you just threw away since you used up a cup in the process of giving me my coffee.
please take this into consideration the next time i bring to you my travel mug. thanks in advance for your attention to this important matter.
sincerely and green-ly yours,
miko
