resolve this! (version 2008)

my new year's resolutions:

1. complain less. people have joked with me that i like to complain. so i'm trying to stop. this means that my ongoing series "surrounded by idiots," may be discontinued, either because i've resolved my resolution, or because we (hopefully) will have moved out and will no longer be surrounded by idiots. by the way, last week someone ran over the stop sign outside my building again. this time because it happened when there was snow on the ground, there are actual tire tracks, so i expect to see a CSI team investigating the matter any minute now. at least i can stop worrying that there's an unknown entity (bigfoot?) that is running over stop signs.
2. work out more. i don't need to lose weight, but it's never a bad thing to be healthy. this includes taking advantage of the gym while we have access to it, or just going for walks.
3. go to church regularly. we haven't been in a long time.
4. read more. i also vow to finish something written by ayn rand, as i have a couple of her books in my possession, but haven't actually sat down to read them.

i'm quite proud as my resolutions for this year are much better than they were last year. and, of course, i will be more proud if i can actually stick to them.

i was reading an article today about sticking to resolutions and there are apparently a couple guys that have decided to help you out! the example given in the article i was reading was that if the writer did not do 200 sit-ups a week, then the owners of the website (www.stickk.com) would give $100 of the writer's money to charity. it's a neat gimmick - kind of like that whole automatic savings thing or the mini-chocolate bars. we really need more products out there to help us from ourselves.
