was it something i said?

our neighbours suddenly disappeared. i first noticed that their patio was completely empty, and upon further investigation (read: staring into their house), everything was gone - their dining room chandelier, candle decorations in their kitchen, even their window blinds...which made no sense because if you're moving, the chances are very slim that your custom-ordered blinds would fit the windows of your new house.

then we went for a walk yesterday and ran into them at their new house one row of houses. this explains why they brought their blinds with them! it turns out they had problems with their neighbour who cranked loud music at all hours of the night. he only did it more when they asked him politely to stop. he was also prone to yelling so they could hear him through the walls, and once in the winter, he decided to clear the snow off his patio - he shoveled the snow right in front of their garage door. it was getting so bad that they told the builder they wanted to move, so the builder found them a new place, away from mr. stupid - isn't that nice? now i almost feel bad for bad-mouthing the builder about their shoddy choices for tradesmen. almost.
