re: stand by me

i didn't like the nickname they gave david (the guy getting the face transplant) - blowhole? please! i think they should have called him two-face. *snicker* you know, from batman? so much better. it looks so strange when there are no lips/cheeks to cover one's teeth - it looked like he was clenching his teeth while he was speaking, but maybe that's the way everyone talks, but the skin just covers it. his anxiety over seeing his internet friends and their unconditional acceptance was beautifully staged.

i don't know if i've actually said this before - i know i've said it out loud, in real life, but not sure if i actually typed it - WHY ARE THE INTERNS SUCH BAD ACTORS? WHY?! i know tv shows have budgets and everything, but still...and if you KNOW you have such poor actors to work with, why even bother giving them a storyline? the whole love triangle thing? and what's up with these interns just sleeping with EACH other and not trying to seduce the residents or attendings (other than lexie, of course)? it's wrong, all of it. so wrong.

i love derek's speech to the chief. he's so cute when he's angry! so cute! when he's angry! and talks in sentence fragments! with exaggerated pronnnnnunciattttion! and repeats himself! repeats! himself! and then the chief's reaction. wonderful acting all around. which almost makes up for the interns.

best quotes...

cristina on her relationship with owen:
it's like friends with benefits. without the benefits

izzie and cristina arguing about her illness:
-what are they going to call me when i'm the patient - swiss cheese for brains?
-no, that's awkward and long. blowhole's pithy.
haha, PITHY!!!!

bailey on callie and owen's disappearance after sending them to get derek:
i'm half-convinced they're all dead. on a spit. with a one-armed man turning them in shish-kebobs. sir. it's my mind, it just goes there.

derek and meredith's reconciliation:
-would you still love me if i wasn't a surgeon?
-no

lastly, of course izzie's case is what will bring derek back. brilliant. i loved the final scene, it was so serene and calm, with our friends helping izzie into her hospital bed. and of course she gets the good sheets. you know you're a somebody when you get the 500 thread count sheets in the hospital...

burke got the good sheets too.

the pithy comment was FANTASTIC! i love that cristina chose to focus on the name not working because of its verbal delivery and not the fact that it was cruel. ha! cristina.
