re: didn't we almost have it all

this is a little overdue thanks to the long weekend, but i figure i should at least make a couple comments on the season finale.

the best thing about this episode was the writer's blog. it is what writer's blogs should be: thoughtful, well-written and most importantly, insightful. you should read it (although i refer to a lot of it below).

the symmetry of the season - how it began with meredith helping izzie out of her prom dress, ending with meredith helping cristina out of her wedding dress? amazing. i didn't notice this. i love how it shows us how far the characters have developed...

in that same vein, the chief now must decide whether he should he retire and be with adele or stay because clearly the hospital needs him. just like at the beginning of the season...

how cristina talks about the heart as purely a mechanical device to keep you alive and burke's vows were all about how it's an emotional organ that he was prepared to give to her, showing the differences between them and the obstacles that they face...

that callie won't bring up izzie again because the last time they did, george referred to her as a supermodel. so instead she just threatens izzie with her professional prowess (she's going to be everyone's boss next year!) and rubs in her face that her george are going to try for a baby...


this episode was pretty good (still doesn't rival season 2's season finale!) but i liked it more after reading the blog - which is what the blog is supposed to do! the one thing i didn't like and i don't like and probably won't ever like, is lexie grey. i never was a big fan of the meredith's-other-family-storyline anyway but this just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. i don't even like the introduction of new interns; this is the third season, and we've never seen that before, yes i always assumed there were other interns, more interns, but we don't care about them! we only care about our interns, the gang.

oh, and cristina without eyebrows? the best impression of an asian whoopi goldberg i have ever seen!
