on hiatus...

i received the first two twilight books from my brother for christmas. i was determined to only read them when i had time to fully commit to them, because i had a feeling i would love them.

so, thanks to my extreme case of pink eye, i finally had time. little did i know that i would love them so much, that twilight would take over my life.

i read the first book in a few days - i enjoyed the story, fell in love with edward (naturally) and was quite happy with the first book. the actual writing was just so-so, but the story (and edward) made up for it. the obsession began with the second book. i don't want to ruin it for you in case you decide to read it, which you should, but there is one significant event in the second book that just makes you keep reading! i ended up reading it 7 hours, thanks to it being the weekend. then i had to buy the last two books - luckily all teen/kid books were on sale at chapters that day, so i got 20% off. i finished the third book in less than a day. the fourth book took a bit more time because i was back to work by then, and during a busy time at that. by this point, i was losing sleep to read. instead of talking to people at work, whenever i had a spare moment (waiting for my computer to boot up, while eating lunch, waiting for a late student), i would read. when i finished the fourth book, i promptly re-read the first one, much to kris' chagrin; he had breathed a sigh of relief when i finished the fourth, thinking he would get his wife back...silly him.

once i finished re-reading the first book, i got the movie soundtrack in preparation for the movie. then i watched the movie, which, as you may have heard, does not do the book justice...but was still enjoyable, probably because at this point, anything to do with twilight is good in my eyes. even though the acting was terrible, and they completely butchered the meadow scene, and edward isn't supposed to be so scowly and irritable...i could go on. now i'm almost done re-reading the second book and can't wait for book three (again). one thursday, i even chose twilight over watching grey's anatomy! this speaks volumes. even if i did still PVR grey's.

so needless to say, my blogging has gone to the wayside. i will do my best to catch up...this may be easier than i thought since the next new grey's episode isn't until APRIL 23. so stay tuned.
